Assistant Communications Manager


One of Africa’s leading Communication consulting firms in Accra requires qualified persons to fill the position of Assistant Communications Manager

Responsibilities and Duties
Provide the following communications services in French and English:
Assist with the development of proposals by contributing ideas to proposal development
Develop communication strategies and plans
Supervise the development and implementation of communication plans by relevant communication personnel
Assist with client relationship building and management
Provide editorial services
Draft analytical document
Develop and translate communications materials
Translation of documents
Provide communications consultancy and advisory services
Deliver communications services (locally and abroad)

Supervision/People Management
Undertake coaching of assigned staff
Undertake assessment of assigned staff
Assist with providing advisory services to clients
Provide advisory services to the organization
Bi annual evaluation and career development of staff

Planning and Reporting
Directly supervise the development and implementation of annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly plans
Support the development of quarterly reports on the work of the department

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

A minimum of a first degree in Communications
A second degree would be an added advantage
A good first degree in French proficiency
Practical knowledge and experience in communications and people management in French language
Membership of Professional Communications and French language and related bodies
At least 5 years post-qualification experience in the French language as well as communications
Ability to manage at least four accounts (mix bag of major and small accounts)
Ability to oversee team of six or more
Report writing, presentation skills in French critical
Analytical skills critical

Strong communication skills – oral and written
Networking skills (Interpersonal skills)

Experience in media industry
