Communications Officer

Under the supervision of the coordinator, the communications officer would assist the coordinator to:
1.communicate to a wide range of stakeholders
2.develop, implement and monitor a communications strategy.
3.promote and encourage membership of the network
4.work with the media to create and maintain a positive profile of the organization and issues relevant to its work
5.assist in designing and carrying out consultations and research
6.write and produce a range of materials for members and other audiences including e-mail bulletins, newsletters and articles, promotional leaflets, etc
7.coordinate and produce the EI Annual Report
8.map and maintain information on relevant networks and partnerships
9.develop and maintain regularly the website for general information and for specific support to members and participants
10.ensure accessibility of good practice in all communications
11.create and maintain effective and up to date databases of participants and members, key contacts and other relevant information resources
12.help organize and service meetings
13.support training programmes and learning activities for members and other staff in communication and information technology.
The post holder will also be expected to write reports, make reviews and recommendations as required; take part in training and staff development, participate in team meetings, undertake any other duties as assigned by the coordinator

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

Education: A degree or relevant professional qualifications in communication, higher level of IT Technology and Social Sciences.

At least 5 years experience in communications within a set of civil society organizations with exceptional communication and information technology skills, interpersonal skills including the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of audience, good networking and media handling skills etc. Skills in book/newsletter publishing will be a plus. Experience in working with Trade Unions and in the Education sector is essential.
