Logistics and Warehouse Manager

Leadership
Lead and motivate the warehouse team
Develop and work within the warehouse budget of controllable expenses (i.e. labor, supplies, repairs, freight lanes and material damages) to achieve operational goals.
Provide effective training and motivation as well as consistent performance feedback to warehouse employees.
Facilitate team meetings and operational reviews. Encourage and facilitate team decision making and coach warehouse personnel and casuals in the ways of consensus building and information sharing.
Support and drive Teams/Business Unit by setting goals and implementing action plans to reach those goals.
Ensure Team input in goal-setting strategies and attainment plans.
Partake in weekly/monthly meeting to update team on the progress of activities under you control.
Manage staffing by both the most cost effective and performance efficient means possible.

Safety
Comply with and ensure all company safety policies and procedures are being followed by teams. Lead by example.
Take an active role to ensure personal safety and the safety of others is never compromised

Quality
Ensure teams are working within the guidelines of the Good Distribution Practices (GDP's) and Good Warehousing practices '
Complete and document all safety and quality checks as required by our various quality programs and standards.
Actively participate in preventing and correcting quality related errors.

Responsibilities
Liaise with procurement and Third Parties to ensure uninterrupted inbound logistics
Coordinate with sales department, regional depots, external customers and transporters to ensure cost effective deliver of outbound goods.
Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, order and dispatch of goods
Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems for inventory management and reporting
Respond to customer’s (customers, sales manager and the sales team) queries through email and phone communication.
Ensure stock control systems are up to date by making sure inventories are accurate and matches with system quantities.
Manage all inbound and outbound delivery processes to maximize on time customer order fulfillment at optimum cost.
Planning future capacity requirements consider the rate of growth the business.
Ensure direct staff adherence to Company policies, SOPs and regulations pertaining to good distribution and warehousing practice.
Organize the recruitment and training of temporary staff, as well as monitoring their performance and progress
Formulate warehouse Standard Operating Procedures and ensure they are strictly adhered to.
Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to support sales and marketing decisions.
Encourage feedback from internal and external customers to improve service delivery.
Effectively manager contract relating warehousing and logistics to ensure the rights and obligations of both parties are adhered to.
Any other duties requested by your line Manager.
Lead stock count and reconciliation of the various TFHO’s depots and other inventory sites and assist in resolving any inventory related discrepancies.
Assessment of depots to ensure they meet storage standards.
Training of personnel on good distribution practices (GDP)
Comfortable with forecasting and supply planning

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

EDUCATION
Minimum qualification: Degree in supply chain management or related field
Certificate in inventory and warehousing management will be an added advantage





EXPERIENCE
5-8 years’ experience in logistics, warehousing, courier and freight forwarding industry. Specifically, sea freight
FMCG experience preferred. Experience in Pharmaceutical company would be an added advantage
Computer literate
Familiar with tertiary packaging processes
Knowledge in managing temperature-controlled products.

REQUIREMENT
Must have excellent communication and written skills.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required other ERP systems.
Proven ability to work autonomously and maintain solid working relationships with clients and staff.
