Our client, a global commodity trading and processing company is currently looking for an efficient and highly efficient Regional Manager (Dispatch & Scheduling)/Logistics and Transport Manager to help with their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE
The selected candidate for the Regional Manager (Dispatch & Scheduling) role will act as Logistics and Transport Manager for a fleet of modern trucks.

He/She will be in charge of tracking business performance, financial reports and goods delivery; support in recruiting, developing and managing performance of over 80 employees both fleet managers and truck drivers; ensure efficient and effective dispatch and monitoring of trucks to clients both internal and external; manage all operational expenses and accountable for the performance of team members.

Roles/Responsibilities
Business performance tracking
• Manage P&L (Profit & Loss) for entire fleet
• Set and track fuel budgets and forecasts
• Report on delivery and outstanding businesses
• Manage Incentives and trip allowances for team members

People management and development
• Supports the selection and on‐boarding process of fleet managers and drivers.
• Ensures the company’s culture is being cultivated among team members
• Co‐ordinates the activities of all staff/drivers including managing performance, motivation and training requirements
• Manage internal conflicts within teams

Execute dispatch and monitor delivery of goods and services
• Ensure delivery targets and quality parameters are met
• Set and monitor dispatching of trucks
• Laisse with Business Development Managers to ensure zero outstanding payments with clients
• Ensure well‐coordinated internal controls and record keeping systems are in place
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of service with zero waste.

Truck movements and performance
• Develop cost cutting strategies to effectively utilize trucks and drivers
• Ensure all trucks are in good condition, active and available for dispatch
• Reporting on dispatched and faulty trucks
• Reporting on the cycle time of trucks

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

Education
• BSC Business Admin, logistics & supply chain management or any business-related field.
• CIPS, MILT, CMILT, MBA or Master’s degree in a related field
Experience
Minimum of 5 years working experience in a proven transport and logistics management
position.
Requirements
• Experience managing multiple vendors
• Ability to manage a large team
• Knowledge in national road network and safety policies
• Advance knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and process oriented person
• Excellent IT skills in excel, Ms-word and PowerPoint
• Excellent written, communication and report writing skills
• Knowledge and experience in transport management and distributional channels in urban
• and rural areas an advantage.
