SME - Client Relationship Officer

Main purpose and objectives of the job
The SME Client Officer is responsible for processing the loans, developing and monitoring the loan portfolio and developing the Advans Ghana loan clientele..
He/she will also be responsible for developing the savings and deposits portfolio for the target groups.
Target group is the businesses with annual turnover of 500,000 and above.

Main Responsibilities:

Commercial activities
To plan using the main Commercial Branch Strategy tool to organize prospection and communication actions in the zone of intervention (markets and commercial areas) by collaborating with the other client officers
To introduce Advans Ghana products and services to target population
To follow-up the prospects by a regular contact with the identified potential clients
To propose the new products and services to his/her current clients
To identify clients’ needs and propose new products/services to the management

Loan activities
To offer needed direction after conversion of prospect to client by assisting the clients loan application process.
To conduct loan appraisal and to collect detailed information (personal, business, guaranties) on the field.
To present clearly and transparently, the loan request at the Loan committee
To employ use of all available tools and logistics to effectively monitor the loan portfolio and enhance timely repayment of all instalments.
To organize recovery actions in the case of late repayment, respect and execute all agreed actions at arrears committees.
To maintain a regular contact with clients by organizing visit on the field
To become a respected and active stakeholder in the intervention zone by spending most of the time on the field and creating a trusty relationship with small businessmen/women.
To become a specialist of small/medium businesses

Savings and deposits activities
To identify deposit and financial services needs of prospects and existing clients and propose products to help solve deposit needs.
To understand the core business of the prospect/client and how activities are organised, so as to appreciate the products to cross-sell to them.
To ensure all deposit products are well explained to the understanding of client to enhance patronage and confidence in Advans products and services.

Administrative tasks
To keep complete, detailed and accurate documentation on each client in the client files/branch vault.
To provide accurate information on each prospect/client for input and update in the MIS.
To ensure deposit accounts are created at the moment of first contact by prospect at the branch.

Organization and control
To prepare on a bi-monthly basis, Branch Commercial Strategy with Branch Management in
the intervention areas.
To break down on weekly basis planning of actions and visits to be undertaken
To share information and best practices with the other SME Relationship Officers
To report all the issues related to the job with the Branch Manager
To analyse the client portfolio by using operational reports

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum required education level:
At least an HND, Bachelors Degree and other professional qualifications.

Required Experience (work field and number of years):
A minimum of one (1) year working experience (National Service inclusive). Good
mathematical ability, market appraisal skills and knowledge in accounting.
Practical knowledge of micro/small businesses and market environment is an advantage.
