Our client, an international drilling company is looking for a well-organized and a proactive Accountant/Finance Officer to help with their operations in Ghana.

The successful candidate will provide analysis of cash flow, operating costs and variance regularly prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and recommendations concerning relevant financial issues in the company.

• Provide a leadership role in all aspects of the company’s financial operations
• Provide accurate and timely financial information and reports to facilitate the decision-making process and ensure success of the corporation.
• Oversee operation of Accounting Department, Payroll and Human Resources operations
• Ensure adequate controls are in place, i.e. policies, procedures
• Provide monthly and quarterly reporting as required by bank.
• Responsible for the annual budget process, provide monthly reviews, and implementing Business plans and other programs.
• Coordinate annual audit of the Company with external auditors to include set and prioritize goals and objectives for direct reports and themselves
• Perform analysis on various company projects and plans and provide alternatives and recommendations
• Liaise with legal representation on corporate issues. Review of legal contracts as requested
• Establish and maintain relationship with banks.
• Ensure adequate insurance coverage is in place, thereby minimizing risks
• Review standard costs, including appropriate overhead allocations
• Periodic review of product margins and advise management as necessary

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

Education/ Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
• Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory or lead experience in accounting and finance or related field

• Strong Leadership and supervisory skills
• Must possess a high degree of integrity, accountability, energy and flexibility
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• In depth knowledge of financial and integrated accounting systems
• Proficient in MS Office, with advanced excel skills
• Must be able to work independently with less supervision
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Must be able to work overtime as may be required for timely delivery of task if necessary as well as meet timeline for reporting
• Other tasks as assigned from time to time
