Location: Tarkwa
Our client, an international drilling company is looking for a well-organized and a proactive Purchasing and Logistics Manager to help with their operations in Ghana.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the logistics and warehouse function companywide ensure adequate processes and procedures are in place throughout all areas of the warehousing process and ensure accurate and efficient recording of all warehouse transactions
Help with the sourcing of new depots/mini-warehouses or lock ups as required
Create and implement effective processes and procedures to ensure the accurate recording of all warehouse transactions.
Ensure and maintain an effective and timely order management and acknowledgement system.
Review departmental workload to ensure purchasing is smooth and consistent, via delegation to warehouse staff where appropriate
Manage the warehouse operatives on a day-to-day basis and to ensure they are sufficiently trained to ensure stock accuracy.
Ensure that adequate stockholdings are always available for technicians.
Manage and carry out regular stock takes.
Produce regular reports on stock usage and availability.
Improve and implement procedures for the efficient and effective maintenance of buildings, machinery and equipment.
Have the ability to make judgement calls/decisions based on your experience within the industry.

Liaise with relevant departments to ensure continuity
Plan and organise your own daily work
Ensure stock loses are kept to a targeted minimum
Ensure all processes in the warehouse and Standard Operating Procedures are followed at all times
Ensure all transactions for the warehouse are correctly recorded
Ensure all purchases meet the companyís requirements
Ensure completion of all company paperwork and filled in correctly
Have excellent liaison and communication to all customers and departments.
Ensure and maintain a neat and tidy appearance

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelorís Degree or equivalent in supply chain or similar position
5-8 years of relevant experience in handling Purchase and Logistics functions
Must be highly organized and disciplined thinker, effective time manager, must have a task and project completion drive and focus
Must understand and execute details of complex projects meet, deadlines and overcom obstacles
Must possess strong organizational skills and process-oriented mind set
Must have the ability to set, manage and track multiple priorities and related details
Ability to effectively present creative alternatives to the team in areas of improvement of system/tool initiatives
Must have contract knowledge
Must be familiar with sales tax and solid math skills
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Proficient knowledge and utilization of accounting software, purchasing software and ability to analyze projected materials costs versus actual costs, QuickBooks preferred.
