Purpose of the Job
To acquire customers, sell assigned products, relationship manage customers and manage assigned portfolio to ensure profitability and balance sheet growth targets are met.

Key Accountabilities

Sales and Business Development
Responsible for achieving customer acquisition and product sales targets
Responsible for profitable and sustainable growth of assigned portfolio
Responsible for leveraging market insight and customer insight to input into product development to ensure our products are competitive and attractive to clients
Develop and grow business and customer relationships by proactively identifying new opportunities for further expansion of the business
Initiate effective demand generation and channel marketing in local area

Portfolio Management
Manage key customer relationships through regular contacts and visits by ensuring an effective call program is maintained on all assigned and prospective customers
Continuously identify and exploit cross selling opportunities to increase product holding per customer
Effective monitoring of assigned loan portfolio to ensure optimum portfolio quality

Customer Experience
Ensure enhancement of customer satisfaction and loyalty
Ensure customer requests are attended to in a fast and accurate manner
Ensure customer complaints are resolved timeously and conclusively

Risk and Compliance
Ensure all compliance and regulatory requirements are satisfied always
Report all suspicious and/or fraudulent activities to Compliance or via whistle-blowing channels
Ensure all controls are followed to protect the bank from unnecessary risk and exposure
Take part in all mandatory training programmes

MATERIALS HANDLED (Materials processed, consumed or produced)
Access to data in core banking system
Handles confidential customer data and documents

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Spends considerable amount of time on the field (outside the office) for prospecting

HAZARDS
Exposure to elevated levels of stress (with attendant health challenges) due to unabated pressure to achieve sales targets
Exposed to vehicular/road hazards due to regular travel to/from customer premises.

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

First degree from a recognized university

OTHER COMPETENCIES
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a banking environment with hands-on experience in sales
Understanding of banking products and services
Effective communication, presentation and inter personal skills
Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access)
Ability to self-organize and think in both innovative and structured ways
Good problem-solving skills
